Nearly 200 members attended the TOC Southern California Annual Meeting on Saturday morning, August 15 at Del Mar Racetrack. Following a delicious buffet breakfast, they heard an update by President Joe Morris on TOC activities and financials for the year and goals for 2015-16. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet and chat with TOC board members and staff as well as participate in a question and answer session.
Leading owner awards were presented to Hronis Racing for most money won and most stakes wins in 2014, and to Tommy Town Thoroughbreds for most California races won last year. Art Sherman accepted TOC’s Ed Friendly Industry Service Award, which is presented annually for outstanding contributions and service in the Thoroughbred industry.
A second annual meeting will be held at Golden Gate Fields on Saturday, November 14, and will feature a buffet lunch and presentation of Rookie of the Year awards, in addition to the business meeting agenda.
