The Thoroughbred Owners of California hosted their Open Forum at the Alameda County Fairgrounds Satellite Wagering Facility on Saturday, June 19. Attendees got to listen to TOC staff and directors discuss current events and answer questions about the state of the industry. Topics of interest included Northern California Race Meet updates for Golden Gate Fields and Pleasanton, Legislative Update, Sports Wagering update and a discussion of the Golden State Cal Bred series.
Representing TOC were its Chairman, Gary Fenton, and directors Stephanie Hronis, Ed Moger, and Bob Liewald, in addition to CEO & President, Greg Avioli and Wayne Atwell, our Northern CA Director of Operations. Representing the northern California racing associations were Larry Swartzlander, CARF’s Executive Director, and Patrick Mackey, Director of Racing & Racing Secretary at Golden Gate Fields.
