Amidst much excitement and fanfare, Triple Crown champion American Pharoah arrived home at Bob Baffert’s barn, Santa Anita Racetrack just before noon today. On hand to welcome him were Baffert and his wife, Jill, and son Bodie, jockey Victor Espinoza, and a throng of news journalists and fans.
American Pharoah’s plane from Kentucky landed at 9:42 a.m. at Ontario International Airport. He than boarded a specially marked horse van for the last leg of his journey to Santa Anita, accompanied by a police escort.
Baffert led American Pharoah once around the walking ring as soon as he came off the horse van. American Pharoah was then given a bath before being walked around the ring again and posed for photos. View a video of the arrival here.
